Studio Tincup provides landscape research and design services for all historic landscape architecture projects. The research is conducted using The Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Landscapes with Guidelines for the Treatment of Cultural Landscapes. These standards as well as other supporting documents from the National Park Service’s Historic Landscape Initiative and The Cultural Landscape Foundation provide the basis for research and evaluation. All of these resources coupled with coupled with Studio Tincup’s experience with historic landscape architecture provides the ideal setting for execution of the preservation or restoration of historic landscape architecture sites. The research and design for historic landscape projects begins with an exhaustive archival search for information regarding the site. The materials reference could be historic maps, family photographs, diaries, public records or personal interviews among several other materials. These archival materials are referred to throughout the process of the project and provide the basis for preservation decisions. For a further look at this experience please refer to the Historic Landscape Architecture Portfolio section as well as the Biography section.
