After completing all phases of design and construction documentation, Studio Tincup may begin the construction observation process. The construction observation phase may or may not be completed for every project. This service ensures that the design intent illustrated in the construction documents is carried out with the detail in which it was originally intended. The landscape architect will visit the construction in progress during an agreed upon amount of visits. During these times, the landscape architect will observe the contractors’ workmanship and attention to construction documents. If there are deviations to the drawings, the landscape architect will instruct the contractors representative of the changes that need to occur. The landscape architect does not instruct the contractors’ staff directly on construction procedures or changes. This direct communication between the landscape architect and contractor ensures there is open communication, which allows for an efficient construction period that maintains the original design intent.
