The Village of Huntley – Jewel Osco is located in Huntley,
Illinois. This Jewel Osco is a food and drug store located
in the Huntley development, a suburb of Chicago. The Village
of Huntley is located along the "golden" I-90 Corridor
approximately 45 minutes west of the Chicago Business
Loop. This project included the production drawings for
the village approval and permitting process as well as
construction documentation. The design included the use
of berming at the edges of the building and along the
service areas to help in screening. The parking areas
were further screened by planting large evergreen shrubs
at the base of the parking. The lawn area adjacent to
the service area of the building contained large evergreen
trees to further aid in screening. The entry areas into
the site were flanked by seasonal plantings and evergreen
groundcovers. The parking area contained several shade
trees as well as groundcovers. Flowering ornamental trees
complimented the shade trees and provided additional color
to the site. This work was conducted while employed with
TBG Partners under the direction of Jim Manskey.
