Texas Roadhouse Restaurant is located in El Paso, Texas.
Texas Roadhouse Restaurant is a national restaurant with
locations in 30 states. The project is located along Interstate
I-10 in El Paso. The project included producing drawings
for city approval and permit. The challenge was working
within a tight deadline, specific budget and the necessity
for a unique design. The site contained existing trees
along the Interstate 10 side of the property as well as
the eastern side of the site. The city required that the
new landscape include these trees within the final design.
Therefore, the landscape architect complimented these
trees by adding additional shade trees to meet the code
requirements as well as the necessity to provide shade
for the site. The landscape architect's knowledge of southwestern
and low water use plant materials was particularly important
for this project. The planting scheme featured the use
of low water use plant selections as well as drip-irrigation.
Particular attention was paid to the entry into the building
by including colorful groundcovers and perennial plantings.
