Aledo, Texas
The Aledo Residence #1 is a private residence located in Aledo, Texas. The residence is located on the west side of Fort Worth in a newly developed rural neighborhood. The client wanted a masterplan for his entire property. The client wanted to provide a dramatic entry sequence to his home as well as providing an outdoor entertaining area and flag football area for the children. The masterplan focused on providing structure at the entry using large Magnolias framing the circular entry drive. These magnolias were complimented by a secondary layer of Natchez Crape Myrtles for greater impact of color. We also included a backdrop of Live Oaks and Redbuds scattered strategically throughout the site. The entry design was formal with brick edged planting beds. The planting provided a foundation for the large home using evergreen shrubs coupled with flowering deciduous shrubs, perennials and groundcovers. We included special areas at the entry for seasonal planting to be done by the client. The outdoor entertaining area was sited in the backyard adjacent but separate from the swimming pool. We sited this area near an existing Live Oak to capitalize on the shade as well as providing a different experience from the pool area. The flag football area was placed on the western side of the site which contained the greatest amount of open space and level grade. We enhanced the existing pool area by proposing varying height planters as well as vines around the fencing.
