The Park Creek Place Corporate Development is located in the Turtle Creek area of Dallas, Texas. Park Creek Place is a corporate office site managed by Capstar Commercial Real Estate Services. The challenge of the project was to work with the existing site and architecture and develop a landscape unique to other corporate sites in the Turtle Creek area. The site was limited in planting areas and contained a considerable amount of hardscape. Therefore, the landscape architect proposed a series of ‘greenscreens’ to soften the large existing concrete columns. These ‘greenscreens’ would be attached to the existing columns and eventually be covered in vines to create a wall of living green plants. The landscape architect also proposed striking bands of planting along the most traveled side of the building to create a dramatic planting statement. The existing parking area was screened with large evergreen shrubs to obscure the view of cars from the road. A dramatic piece of sculpture was proposed to compliment the architecture and provide interest at the entry. During the design process a series of image boards were developed illustrating the existing conditions as well as plant and hardscape material choices.
