Heritage Square Corporate Development is located in Dallas, Texas near the intersection of LBJ Freeway and the Tollway (across from the Galleria). Heritage Square is a corporate office site managed by Capstar Commercial Real Estate Services. The challenge of the project was to create a unique office development on a previously developed site with a multitude of different planting conditions – dense shade to full sun. The landscape architect was asked to model the site after previous Capstar properties designed by Studio Tincup. The unique conditions on the site required the landscape architect to explore a variety of plant material choices while keeping similar planting design forms explored in previous projects. During the design process a series of image boards were developed illustrating the existing conditions as well as plant and hardscape material choices. The site contained two large, multi-story buildings that needed to compliment each other. To achieve this, the landscape architect used similar materials at each site as well as introducing a new walkway connection between the two buildings. The site contained many mature trees including Live Oaks, Crape Myrtles and Cedar Elms. The decision to keep all of these trees contributed to the success of the project.
