Aventerra is a mixed-use development located in Southlake, Texas. Aventerra encompasses approximately 500 acres along State Highway 114. The project work included master planning the site to include commercial, office, retail, hotel and restaurants. The landscape architect developed a series of landscape development guidelines focusing on developing the site to respond to the existing native environment. The site was divided into three zones: riparian, prairie and woodland. These zones directly corresponded to the type of landscape occurring on the site naturally. The design ultimately followed by respecting these zones and proposing materials that would only compliment and enhance these areas. TBG Partners was awarded a Texas Chapter – American Society of Landscape Architects Merit Award for the work on this project. This work was conducted while employed with TBG Partners under the direction of Jim Manskey.
